Devon's Coast to Coast/ 2 Moors Way, A moderate grade event, hotel based

Cost

£720 full board and transport to walk each day.

After a break of 3 years the Club will be returning again to the Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster - an establishment that specialises in walking groups and that has looked after us so well in the past.. The standard of accommodation is good: the hotel keeps a "good table" and general level of care from the staff has always been outstanding ?

We plan, over 5 walking days, to cover the northern part of the 2 Moors way, ( an ancient route that links Wembury in the South Hams with Lynmouth on the N Devon Coast.) We start at Clannaborough - a small parish with no village - and follow the route northwards. The trail primarily uses field paths, footpaths and bridleways, with some moorland walking and occasional quiet lanes: the last leg follows the the Tarka Trail, through the Doone Valley and the East Lyn Gorge to Lynmouth, Parts of the route are described as "hilly" but there are no steep ascents/descents Total distance 88kms./ 55 miles

The cost for the event is £720: but this includes full board, transport to/from the trail heads and the provision of backup transport throughout the walk.

The Two Moors Way Association (www.twomoorsway.org) has a wealth of information about the trail Sue Viccars' Cicerone Guide is invaluable. A Harvey Map covers the whole route: otherwise several OS maps are required, though much of our route will be on OL9 - Exmoor

Please note that some club activities may be hazardous and that those who attend do so at their own risk. This means that the neither the club nor the committee nor the event/walk leaders can accept liability for any injuries that occur.
